Or rather, several planned skyscrapers are elevating the city's status in a big way. An Arabian firm, Kuwaiti Al Wafa Al Arabia Real Estate, have partnered with Bulgarian firm Krapsi Holding AD in the design of two highrises in the centre of Sofia. The two towers will be 75 metres high.

Both Sofia's mayor and the Chief Architect from the Sofia Municipal Council have approved the construction of the towers, which will be situated in the Serdika residential district. A five-star hotel is already planned for one of the towers, along with offices, a shopping centre, rooftop gardens, and an enormous underground parking lot with 2,500 parking spaces.
