If you're arriving in the city by air, you can jump in an Avis car right at the Sofia airport. They're open from nine in the morning right through to ten in the evening Monday to Friday and until 9pm at weekends. If you’re already in town, no problem, you can drop by their office at 84 Orion Street, Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm to sort yourself out some wheels (just give the code "o788355" to get started). Avis have got a great fleet of cars ready to drive away including, Fiats Pandas, Opels Corsas and Audis A8s. Avis’ English language website should be able to answer all your queries and if it can’t, you can contact them directly.

And once you’re all buckled up and raring to go, Sofia and its surroundings are yours to discover. And if you get a little ‘cultured out’ after visiting the city’s fantastic array of museums, galleries and exhibitions why not pack the kids or your mates into the car and head for Sofia Land, where everyone can let off some steam with a crazy mixture of rides, thrills, spills and pools.
