Sofia's southern European location means milder winters and scorching summers, so if you like moderate temperatures, the spring and autumn are the best times to visit. In the summer, the temperatures regularly break 30 degrees, so tank tops and shorts are a must, though an umbrella can always come in handy as well. Despite its location, winters can still be chilly, with snowfalls being regular between November and March or so. It's always best to check the forecast regularly before your trip, so you know what to expect - and then pack an extra jacket or raincoat just in case!
